Bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency, could reach a 120% increase later this year, according to predictions from experienced trader Peter Brandt.

Amid market fluctuations, Brandt maintains an optimistic outlook on the future of Bitcoin, estimating that the digital asset will reach the US$135,000 mark by August or September 2025.

Brandt, known for his assertive market analyses, highlighted that Bitcoin tends to record large gains in the second half of halving cycles, when the reward for mining the cryptocurrency drops by half. The phenomenon has historically driven the price of BTC.

According to him, this cycle should repeat itself in the coming months, resulting in a significant increase in the asset's price.

Furthermore, the veteran trader mentioned that, for his bullish analysis to remain valid, Bitcoin needs to remain above the $48,000 level.

Any drop below this level could invalidate the upward projection. However, Brandt remains confident that Bitcoin has room to grow, especially as its fundamentals strengthen and liquidity in the market increases.

Projection for Bitcoin

The analyst also highlighted Bitcoin's superior performance compared to gold, which is traditionally one of the main store of value assets. Using Bayesian analysis, Brandt stated that the ratio of Bitcoin to gold could remain above 100, surpassing the current ratio of 23 to 1.

According to him, resistance at 32 to 1 will be a crucial point. However, new all-time highs could push the relationship to much higher levels.

Brandt's optimistic view is shared by other big names in the market. The co-founders of blockchain analytics platform Glassnode, Jan Happel and Yann Allemann, known under the pseudonym Negentropic on the X platform, also believe that the recent correction in the price of Bitcoin, caused by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, will be temporary.

According to them, network growth and increased liquidity are factors that support a more robust recovery for Bitcoin in the coming months.
